  • Power, Pedagogy, and Philosophy's "Woman Problem"

    A 3-day conference on gender and philosophy, with an emphasis on representation and professional development for women as philosophers. Our conference included invited keynotes who presented original research, as well as expert panels on topics such as employment, publication, and the history of women in philosophy. One day was dedicated entirely to professional workshops on publishing, feminist pedagogy, and mentorship, as well as graduate student presentations.

    As part of the editorial team, I edited papers through multiple submissions before preparing them for print publication. As head editor from 2012-14, my aim was to create more opportunities for professional development and exposure for everyone involved in the production of the journal (authors, editors, and designers), through rigorous editorial standards and project expansion. I standardized editing procedures and style guides for future editions, expanded funding and distribution, worked…

I standardized editing procedures and style guides for future editions, expanded funding and distribution, worked with professional designers, and used the platform of the journal to publish conference proceedings for the 2014 Symposium, "Power, Pedagogy, and Philosophy's 'Woman Problem.'"
